Contractors will carry its heating, doors, void and loft insulation improvement programmes covering 1200 properties.

Work to the many void properties will be carried out by Kier Building Maintenance.

Hull specialist Heat Insulation will insulate lofts at a rate of around 100 a week.

Gas central heating systems will be upgraded and installed by Aqua Interiors and work is set to start in April.

Building services company, Forrest, has been awarded the door improvement works contract. They have already started replacing an estimated 2000 doors in homes on the North Bransholme estate in Hull.

The contractors will also be creating apprenticeships and trainee positions, where local people will be employed to work on the improvement programme.
