Two new student accommodation buildings, each worth around £50m, will be built on the Heslington East site in York.

It is envisaged that the contract for the first building will be based on the operator purchasing a lease of up to 60 years on a site within the Heslington East development to build and operate around 650 student bed spaces.

The University is considering investing in a special purpose vehicle for the contract, which could then be extended to the second £50m building project in two year’s time.
