Designed by CPMG Architects, the rebuild project uses Wates’ new Adapt school building model, which can cut build times by a fifth and win cost savings of 23% against a typical BSF school building.
Wates Construction will build the 900-students academy alongside the existing school building, which will be demolished when the job is finished in September 2014.
The project also includes a 215-capacity Sixth Form block and new facilities for the Monks Hill Sports centre and space for a new community facility.
Richard Shroll, business unit director for Wates Construction, London and Kent, said: “This project utilises our Adapt model, which has been developed in partnership with CPMG to ensure the individual needs of the school are met with efficiency, without a compromise on quality.”
