Miller Construction has won an £8.25m deal for Leeds University which starts on site in September.

Work will involve a remodelling and relocation project for the School of Geography alongside an extensive programme of refurbishment and infrastructure upgrades of the Clothworkers South and Central Buildings.

Completion is scheduled for the autumn of 2014.

The deal is the latest education job for Miller after the firm recently won two schemes which started on site earlier this month

At Manchester Metropolitan University Miller is working on an £8.5m deal to deliver a new 4,000sqm Students’ Union building which is due for completion in the summer of 2014.

At the University of Edinburgh Miller is working on a £6.8m contract to deliver the second component of phase 2 of the National Avian Research Facility at the University’s Easter Bush campus.

Completion is due by the end of 2014.

Chris Webster, Chief Executive, Miller Construction, said: “We have built an unrivalled reputation in the education market by delivering world-class facilities to meet modern education needs.

“These latest contracts provide further evidence of our understanding of this sector and our expertise in providing bespoke solutions for universities looking to invest in their estates.

“Our approach is to focus on programmes of work with a select number of universities that recognise that the quality of the learning facilities and living environments provided are increasingly important elements in determining student choice.”
