South Tyneside Council chose Willmott Dixon for its new Hebburn community hub back in January.

Construction is now set to start on the scheme which will include a 25 metre swimming pool, library and learning centre.

Anthony Dillon, managing director for Wilmott Dixon in the North said: “We are excited about the Hebburn Community Hub project and looking forward to giving Hebburn town centre the landmark hub it deserves.

“As a company we have a strong commitment to supporting the local economy and we will spend at least 30% of the budget in the local area as well as creating apprenticeships local residents.”
