The developer estimates it will spend £50m developing three residential sites, together with associated road infrastructure and site preparation works.
In total the sites at Lickey Road and Low Hill Lane will provide up to 400 new apartments and houses and sustain 160 full-time construction jobs each year.
David Dodge, senior residential development surveyor aid: “New homes at Longbridge have already proved extremely popular, all properties are now sold in the first two phases of our Park View development.
“The creation of almost 400 new homes, including affordable houses to rent and buy, represents a significant investment and is further evidence of our commitment to making the regeneration of Longbridge a success.
A detailed planning application has also been submitted for new infrastructure at Longbridge, including new roads to provide access to the new residential areas as well as opening up access to the employment areas.
The final application is on behalf of Bournville College to create a specialist Construction Centre, comprising over 30,000 sq ft of specialist education accommodation on the Longbridge Technology Park, to add to existing education facilities at Longbridge.
Mike Murray, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “The regeneration of Longbridge is really gathering pace, following the opening of the new town centre at the end of August. We’re now looking to move forward with the next stage of development following the huge success of the first phase of homes at Park View.
“This new residential accommodation forms part of St Modwen’s overall aim to deliver a vibrant mixed-use community with up to 2,000 new homes together with employment and retail facilities to support up to 10,000 jobs over the next 15 years.
“The purpose built Construction Centre for Bournville College is further proof of our commitment to deliver on our ambitions for a mixed use, community focused environment in which to live, work and socialise.”
