The three design and build contracts for Criterion Capital (Croydon Investments) will provide 584 Miflat branded private rental apartments over the next 16 months.
Following a successful two-stage negotiation of initially Bedford House then Canterbury House and finally Delta Point, first works are due to start this month.
These works will see Delta Point, the iconic 28,500 sq m BT office building in central Croydon, converted into 404 apartments along with ancillary facilities in the basement areas and the overhauling of the existing facades and roof.
The other two office buildings which are both within 1⁄2 mile of this are being similarly converted.
The works will be carried out from Longcrosses newly-opened London office.
Paul Thomas, London office director said: “This significant award reinforces our visibility in the capital, establishes us as a lead provider in the PRS market and consolidates our secured workload for the next financial year.’’
Longcross managing director Mark English said: “This continues to demonstrate that our business can take the focus and mind-set developed in the retail and commercial sectors and apply these skills to deliver significant schemes across a diverse marketplace.’’
