Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard how Industrial Steel Frames Limited, of Derby was not taking suitable measures to prevent falling from height, putting their workers at risk of serious injury.
On Monday 5 October 2015, Industrial Steel Frames Limited, of Church Street, Ilkeston, was fined a total of £15,000, and ordered to pay £580 in costs after pleading guilty to an offence under Regulation 6(3) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
Speaking after the hearing, HSE Inspector Ian Whittles said: “This company was not adopting known standards for carrying out roof work. HSE will take enforcement action where standards are found to be poor.”
