The new school will be constructed on the Hadfield site next to the existing school which will be demolished once the new school is built to make way for sports pitches, landscaping and car parking.
The new single-site school in Glossopdale would be able to cater for 1,000 students aged 11-16 with capacity for 200 or more in the 6th Form. The site is large enough to allow for future expansion if required.
Works are due to commence on site in the summer with the new school due to be ready in spring 2018 and external works in autumn 2018.
The Henry Brothers team includes DLA Architects, Curtins Structural and Civil Engineers and CPW M&E Engineers.
Ian Taylor, Managing Director for Henry Brothers Midlands said: “This project represents an excellent opportunity for Henry Brothers to deliver a truly outstanding new build secondary school at the heart of the Glossopdale community.”
