Betting Spy: Contractors on a roll at awards night

It’s been a tough week for Betting Spy after the inaugural Construction Enquirer Awards were held next to a casino on Tuesday night.

The awards were a cracking night watching the construction industry enjoy itself.

And once the last gongs were handed out it was on to the casino downstairs where some of the industry’s finest had a good run at the tables.

Now it would be rude of Betting Spy to leave before our guests.

But some serious punters kept going into the very small hours which made the Wednesday newsletter a bit of a struggle.

Luckily strong coffee and a pocketful of chips can perk anyone up though.

It was great to see so many construction people celebrating a successful year so it looks like the awards will become an annual fixture.

I’ll just have to get more sleep credits in the bank beforehand to keep up with you contractors.

Actually one thing keeping me awake at night is the Betting Spy running total – which has a very unhealthy look to it.

Some odd results have sunk our multiple bets recently but let’s keep having a go in the hope of a decent payout.

Man City are having a bit of a blip and I thought Wednesday’s 4-0 scoreline was hugely flattering to Barcelona.

They’ll find Southampton a much easier proposition and I also like the look of Arsenal to beat Middlesbrough and Spurs away at Bournemouth.

You can get nearly 3/1 on the treble which looks the way to go for a winning weekend.

Running total of all bets to a £10 stake for 2016/17 season:  £-55.00
