Waverley Borough Council approved plans for 265 new homes at Knowle Park, including 35% affordable housing and 70% public open space.
Samuel Macdonald, A2Dominion’s Strategic Land Manager said: “The scheme will bring high-quality sustainable homes including a high proportion of affordable housing to Cranleigh. It also provides the neighbourhood with a large public country park.
“We have worked collaboratively with the Borough Council to ensure that this development will meet the needs of the area.”
A2Dominion took over the project after previous applicant’s plans for the site were refused.
Since this time, Knowle Park has been allocated as a site for future housing development in Waverley Borough Council’s draft Local Plan.
A2Dominion also made a series of design refinements addressing the previous scheme’s reasons for rejection.
As part of the Section 106 agreement for the scheme, A2Dominion will contribute significant funding towards the Wey and Arun Canal Bridge Safety Improvement scheme and funding for Crainleigh Leisure Centre.
Subject to the approval of a reserved matters application, work on the site is expected to start in 2018 or 2019.
