The Enquirer tipped Skanska for the deal, which has now been signed off by client Consolidated Developments for £142m.
Skanska will build a hotel and 800-seat venue and events space building behind London’s world famous Tin Pan Alley music hotspot on Denmark Street.
Designed by architects Orms, the scheme includes two new bronze clad buildings on St Giles High Street as well as the refurbishment of two listed buildings on Denmark Place.
The Heritage elements include a retained façade and the refurbishment of listed buildings, some dating back to 1666.
H Smith (Engineers) has now finished site clearance allowing Skanska to deliver the scheme to shell and core.
Construction work is expected to be completed during the first quarter 2020.
