The Enquirer understands that the developer is looking to work with a raft of new contractors on residential plans across London.

Argent has worked with a framework of three firms – BAM, Carillion and Kier – for more than 20 years.

But it is understood that a new deal is being drawn-up to cover £100m plus of potential resi schemes in Tottenham Hale and Brent Cross South.

A source at one of the long-standing framework partners said: “The relationship has been in place for decades but it looks like Argent now wants to go outside of the original three for residential work in London.”

The Enquirer understands that the five firms on the new framework are Laing O’Rourke, McLaren, Sisk, Midgard and Rydon.

It is believed that the first work under the new deal will be awarded towards the back end of next year.

Argent declined to comment.
