It is the firm’s biggest haul of work under Highways England’s collaborative delivery framework, and the most significant project since wining the £20m Chelmer Viaduct replacement more than two years ago.
Graham will deliver upgrade works covering the A47, A11, A1 and A12 from Peterborough to Norwich, through to Lowestoft via Great Yarmouth.
The works consist of multiple key safety improvements, surfacing, structures and technology schemes.
Graham has recruited significant numbers of local people to work on the project. This ensures that everyone from top to bottom and across the team has full knowledge of the local landscape and that they are familiar with the roads and surrounding areas on which the projects are being undertaken and completed.
Dave Brown, Highways Director for Graham, said: “It is really encouraging to see that our long-standing and collaborative relationship continues to grow stronger.”
Most of the work will be completed overnight to ensure minimal impact on road users and to reduce traffic congestion as much as possible.
