The 1-5 New Wakefield Street tower block will rise to around 35 storeys and has been designed by Beetham Tower architects SimpsonHaugh & Partners.
Works are due to start on site in early 2018, after Unite received planning this month.
The tower would stand adjacent to another high-rise student accommodation project: the 33-storey Liberty Living building, formerly known as Student Castle.
Unite plans the vast majority of the accommodation to be arranged in clusters of 5-10 bedrooms. There will also be a number of studio flats. Anodised aluminium is proposed as the cladding for the building.

The corners facing Oxford Road comprises of earthy red cladding to reflect the terracotta tones of existing buildings along Oxford Road.
The client project design team includes Waterman’s Notting building services office and Curtins as structural consultant.
