Designed by Guy Holloway Architects, the Elwick Place project consists of a 100,000 sq ft leisure and restaurant development in the heart of Ashford town centre.
When open next summer, the complex will also include a six-screen Picturehouse Cinema and seven restaurant units on the ground floor.
On Elwick Square, there will be a new meeting and events space, a 58-room hotel, new homes as well as a 280-space car park.
Prater is contributing to the extensive work at Elwick Place with the construction of the new Picturehouse Cinema expected to begin in December 2017.
The facade package will feature curved steelwork and bespoke anodised feature mesh panels, adding an extra level of complexity for the design and installation of the structure.
In addition, Prater will install Schuco curtain walling to the main entrance and atrium of the cinema and steel access doors to the back of the building.
The roofing package will include an inverted PermaQuik hot melt waterproofing system, insulation and paving, as well as paved finishes to the low level roofing and terraces.
The main cinema roof will feature an Esha flex acoustic warm roof on a metal deck and glazed rooflights will be utilised on both areas.
Work on the new Travelodge is expected to begin early 2018.
Prater’s specialist teams will deliver a complete external envelope package including another PermaQuik inverted hot melt waterproofing system as well as a lightweight insulated open vented pressed aluminium rainscreen system, Schuco opening light windows, and Schuco curtain walling.
