Space for more than 700 site operatives was delivered by the modular specialist on the busy Oxford Road site in just nine days.
Over nine days, a total of 60 modules were installed on the city centre site, creating over 1,500m2 of space over three-storeys.
The building was fit out internally in just 24 days to include office space, toilets, a canteen and kitchen, meeting rooms, PPE rooms and a reception area.
The £750m development, Circle Square, will reshape Manchester’s cultural and business scene, providing office, retail, residential and hotel space on the former BBC site.
John Sisk & Son has been appointed to deliver 677 apartments for the site which will include shared lounge areas, co-working spaces, supersized gyms and private entertaining spaces.
David Griffiths, Director and General Manager at Portakabin said, “Although this is our largest solution to date, our team rose to the challenge and were able to deliver and install the building ahead of schedule, on budget and with no lost-time accidents.
“It is a great achievement for us and we’re very proud to be part of such an outstanding development project.”
Mike McCarthy, Senior Project Manager at John Sisk & Son said: “We were pleased to work with Portakabin on this high profile site in the centre of Manchester. Ensuring top quality accommodation and facilities for our people is a key priority for us on our projects.”
A second installation phase will be complete before the end of 2018 to accommodate a further 330 operatives with 1000m2 more office and welfare space.
