The new ‘uber’ framework for modular buildings is being split into seven lots, including design and build of specialist education and healthcare modules as well as other public sector building.
Half of the lots in the new framework will also cover hire only arrangements.
It is understood the new framework will supersede the existing Department for Education and Skills framework established this year.
According to the CCS winning preferred modular building suppliers can expect orders of up to £522m over the next four years, with the healthcare sectors also estimated to spend £72m and other public sector build orders anticipated to exceed £40m.
The new panel will be appointed from March next year.
