He will step down in  June 2019.

Young joined Kier as a quantity surveyor in Devon and progressed to managing director of Western & Wales, a post he held for 10 years.

As the business expanded, he joined the regional board in 2010, expanding his geographic responsibilities and was promoted in 2013 to become executive director, responsible for the building business across the UK.

He has played an instrumental part in the success of the Regional Building business and in establishing our market leading footprint in key sectors.
