The £20m revenue electrical specialist suffered severe cash flow pressures in recent months following a shift towards larger projects.
Over 60 staff have been made redundant by administrator FRP Advisory.
The administrator is now marketing the firm’s assets, including its fleet of vehicles for sale. Two employees have been retained to support with the orderly wind down of the business.
John Lowe, partner at FRP Advisory in Leicester, said: “EME Installations had established itself as a leading player within the construction sector, supplying turnkey electrical and mechanical engineering solutions to both new build and refurbishment projects.
“Unfortunately, the business had suffered severe cash flow pressures as a result of contract disputes and in the absence of new investment it was forced to enter administration and cease trading with immediate effect.”
