The Denton-based building services contractor said Hurcomb will join in September. He is currently interim CEO at Havelock Europa, the Scottish printing group.
Hurcomb stood down from the Carillion main board last year where he was responsible for the UK building and private finance operations.
He was also responsible for the group’s sustainability strategy and supply chain programme and was a director of its Middle East joint venture. Before that Hurcomb was a main board director for Mansell.
Nimble Thompson, NG Bailey chairman, said: “It’s clear to see from his career to date that David’s industry expertise is second to none and I have every confidence that he will lead NG Bailey through the recession and into a new and exciting era.
“I look forward to welcoming David as CEO and as a member of our main board.”
Chris Newton, who took over as acting CEO following the departure of Mark Andrews last year, will revert to his previous role of chief finance officer, added Thompson.
