Consultants named for £1bn Gatwick revamp

Gatwick Airport has revealed the consultants it will use for its £1bn modernisation programme.

The three year agreement will cover around 50 projects.

Schemes in the pipeline include upgrades to the North Terminal, new aircraft pier facilities and the redevelopment of the South Terminal baggage centre.

The selected civil engineering consultants are: Arup; Halcrow; Jacobs; Scott Wilson and TPS.

Consultants believe the value of the work packages will be up to £10m.

Architectural suppliers: Atkins; HOK; Jacobs; Morgan Sindall Professional Services; Pascal & Watson.

Industry experts estimate Gatwick could spend £3m – £20m on architects over the next three years.
