Developer NG Properties has applied for consent to completely overhaul the 21-storey One Angel Court building and increase floor space from 36,478 sq m to 43,823 sq m.
The modernisation plan drawn up by architect Fletcher Priest will see the octagonal tower stripped back to its core and reclad with floor to ceiling glazing to create a gleaming new building.
One Angel Court is one of the older office towers in the City having been constructed in the mid 1970s.
Construction work requires listed building consent for minor modifications to the Grade II listed 41 Lothbury building and some additional demolition works are required to the existing structure.
It is expected that the renovations to the building and the introduction of energy saving measures will result in a revised BREAAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
