Sir Lawrie was left traumatised after the balaclava-clad trio stormed his Corbridge estate and stole family jewellery.
Sir Lawrie and two other people who were at the house were not hurt during the burglary.
The raiders helped themselves to a diamond necklace, earrings and bracelet.
The Scottish sounding raiders struck at Sir Lawrie’s home, which is protected by huge gates and an intercom security system, at around 5.45pm on Monday.
The men demanded valuables before searching the house and stealing the valuable jewellery. They then left, leaving Sir Lawrie, who is in his 80s, terrified but unhurt.
