The Olympic village site had to be shut down after a water pipe was broken during weekend works.
The incident meant that there was no drinking water or lavatory facilities so Olympic Devlivery Authority bosses were forced to send the workforce home.
Emergency repair work was being carried out today on site and the ODA said it hoped construction would resume as normal tomorrow.
An ODA spokesman told the London Evening Standard: “The health and safety of our workforce is our number one priority and following damage to a water main supplying welfare facilities, work has temporarily been halted.”
