The firm has gone down with around £1m worth of work on its books, including hospital jobs at the Royal Bolton Hospital, Stepping Hill in Stockport and Salford Royal.
Staff were called into Hayvern’s Farnworth office on Wednesday to receive the news of job cuts.
A letter given to them said it had been a difficult decision but the directors had no choice but to stop trading and go into administration.
Heather Edwards, head of communications at the The Royal Bolton hospital, told local newspaper the Bolton News: “They supplemented our maintenance team and did refurbishment and upgrading work.
“We will be able to find alternatives if necessary.
“Obviously it is with the administrators to see if the issue can be resolved with the firm.”
The administrators are Clarke Bell, of Manchester.
