Eggers, who is managing director for Mace’s construction management services, is understood to be leaving at the end of this month.
A source told the Enquirer: “Ian was being directed towards a greater business development role at Mace, which was not his style. He likes to secure projects and see them through to the finish.
“He is leaving on good terms with the Mace directors, who are sorry to see him leave.”
He joined Mace soon after it was formed in 1993 and has played an instrumental role in the rise of the firm over the past 18 years, working on the More London development and the London Bridge Shard.
Eggers also led Mace’s first major construction management project in Macau, China, creating the joint venture partnership with Hsin Chong to deliver one of the world’s largest casino complexes for The Las Vegas Venetian company.
