In a company trading statement today, the developer said: “As part of our strategic land holding, we are now seeking a partner to help take forward the long-term development opportunity at Eastern Quarry at Ebbsfleet.
“This is a natural next step in the process as it allies the potential we see in the site with our belief that a large residential development is best led by an established volume house builder.”
The Eastern Quarry scheme will see 6,250 homes, three primary schools, a secondary school and a health and social care centre built.
Homes will benefit from over 20 acres of new parks, lakes and woodland areas.
In London, the developer said it had also started demolition work on a major new office scheme near St Paul’s Cathedral.
The 30 Old Bailey and 60 Ludgate Hill site will be home to two new office building totalling 375,000 sq ft in December 2013.
Land Securities also confirmed planning has been submitted to redevelop the huge 1960’s Kingsgate House building in the Victoria area of the city with a new scheme totalling 341,000 sq ft is planned.
The mix of uses includes 203,000 sq ft of offices, 29,000 sq ft of retail and 109,000 sq ft of residential.
On the retail side, the developer has taken forward smaller development opportunities to take advantage of still strong demand from food and fashion retailers.
It now boasts a £275m, development pipeline of £1m sq ft of schemes to satisfy this location specific demand.
