The contract for the 60,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme is understood to be worth up to £20m and will involve building a number of independent retail units and office space within a single building complex.
Within the proposed Morrisons food store there will be a café and a dry cleaners. Around 250 car park spaces will be built over two levels.
The supermarket site is expected to be a catalyst for the proposed Edgbaston Galleries development.
