David Hume, 58, from Chapel Lands in Alnwick, was found at Longhoughton Quarry, near Alnwick, on Saturday.

The quarry is operated by Alnwick-based KWP.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before an RAF rescue helicopter took him to Wansbeck General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Northumbria Police and officials from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have begun an investigation.
