Moorfield Group has acquired the former printworks site in Exeter, paving the way for a 487-bed student blocks , which will be spread over three to five storey buildings.
The firm is working alongside student accommodation specialist Campus Development Management and Exeter-based developer Yelverton Properties to complete the project, where demoltion work is getting underway.
Most of construction will be off-site, including the assembly of bathroom pods which will be fitted into the Metsec steel frame.
Morgan Sindall project director Aston Mills said: “The continued investment and expansion of the University of Exeter means there is a need to house the growing student population in the city. The new scheme will enhance and support the Housing on offer by providing high quality accommodation to students studying in the city.”
