The successful contractor will provide integrated network management, maintenance, incident management and contingency planning on trunk roads and motorways in the area.
Works include routine and cyclic road and bridges maintenance works, winter maintenance and delivery of road, structures and technology schemes worth £4m-£8m.
Area 8 covers 347km and includes parts of the M1 and M11 and A1/A1(M) out of London.
A Carillion-WSP joint venture is the current service provider under a MAC contract which is being replaced with the new ASCs.
The new contract will come into force in September 2013 and run for five years.
