The £19m project will see Hamilton Community College and Netherhall Special School combined in a single building in Keyham Lane and the demolition of buildings on the two neighbouring sites.
The new campus will allow both schools to accommodate more students, with Hamilton’s roll expected to rise from 980 pupils to 1,200 within three years and numbers at Nether Hall set to rise to 80 pupils.
A decision on the application is set to be made by the end of the summer.
