Hampshire-based Specialist Engineering Contracts has been placed in administration with SFP Group.

Around 45 staff jobs are under threat while administrators look at options, including sell the assets and goodwill of the company.

SEC specialises in high voltage industrial installation and maintenance jobs and counted the MoD, health authorities, councils and universities among its clients.

It operates mainly in the south from offices in Hook and Wroughton in Wiltshire.
