A further 219 schools will come forward next year to be PFI funded.
Details of the first nine schools in the north east were released to contractors at a bidders day held at the first sample school in the north east, the Ian Ramsey School to be built for 1,200 pupils.

A second bidders’ day on 18 October will focus on the first of two Midlands batches, which will consist of six Coventry schools worth £32-36m.The sample school for this batch is Whitmore Park School – a community primary to be built for 630 pupils.

A third bidders days is due to be held next month to roll out five PSPB schools worth £44-54m. The sample school for this batch is Stratford Academy – a secondary school to be built for 1,500 pupils.
