The councils are the last to set up a regional framework to deliver the paired down Welsh school improvement programme and are inviting contractors to a bidders day event on 12 November at Optic Centre, St Asaph, Denbighshire.
Flintshire and Denbighshire County Councils are leading the process and also plan to put other building works within the scope of the frameworks lifting the estimated workload to £195m.
The councils plan to split the work between two frameworks. The first covering around nine school projects of between £4.35m – £10m, which will be worth a total of £35m, and the second six major school projects, each worth between £10m – £45m and worth a total of £110m.
As part of a consultation process, the councils want firms to complete a market sounding questionnaire ahead of official invitation to bid in early 2013.
