The rank-and-file workers have run a series of unofficial “picket lines” on the project following claims that union members were removed from the site – a claim fiercely denied by Crossrail
The demonstrations started at the Bam/Ferrovial/Kier contract in Westbourne Grove and have recently moved to the Bond Street station site.
One site worker told the Enquirer: “They turned up here but have got the wrong site.
“All of their slogans and signs are aimed at the Bam/Ferrovial/Kier consortium which is round the corner in Hanover Square.
“They are actually picketing the Laing O’Rourke/Costain job which they don’t seem to have a problem with.”
