The first of the new generation Drive-Thrus will open in Bognor Regis in West Sussex before being rolled-out across the country.
The new restaurants seat 130 people and Elliott will construct the buildings using steel-framed modules with a concrete floor.
The off-site method of construction will enable the building to be manufactured in a factory controlled environment and take just five weeks to build on-site.
Modules will be delivered to site in fully fitted out format including all fixed furniture and signage. The modules will be lifted into place and the external facade and associated external enabling works will then be completed.
Paul Lang, Managing Director of Elliott Off-Site, said: “The new format store at Bognor Regis will be the first two-storey Drive-Thru location in the UK.
“Our specialist team worked very closely with McDonalds to develop a bespoke off-site solution for this exciting new store format.
“We have a number of retail solutions for clients looking for high quality modular buildings. Our experience in this sector allows us to complete projects on very short schedules – around half the time of a conventional build – which means clients can begin trading much sooner.”
