The new roof will keep noise from the PA system and new tenants West Ham’s supporters inside the ground.
Balfour Beatty started on the main stadium transformation contract last month.
The Lakesmere specialist team will arrive on site next May to install an “acoustically insulated membrane roof and profiled polycarbonate cladding.”
Lakesmere said: “As part of the challenging contract, the Lakesmere team will be required to ensure the high acoustic performance of the new roof to counteract the risk of noise break out to the surrounding areas from the stadium’s PA systems.”
Conversion work will be completed in time for the 2015 Rugby World Cup before the stadium becomes the new home of West Ham United football club in 2016.
