According to construction information specialist Glenigan, Skanska is preferred bidder for the job after beating shortlisted rival Balfour Beatty.
A deal will conclude a spectacular six months for the Skanska’s major building team, which has bagged a quartet of £100m+ building contracts in the capital.
The 273,000 sq ft Mitre Square scheme has been in the pipeline for more than 10 years.
The site has been cleared and developer Helical Bar said construction will now start this year after it announced last month it had found a financial partner for the 19-storey project which will be T-shaped in plan.
Ramboll is the structural engineer and grontmij M&E engineer on the project, which is designed to be BREEAM Excellent.
