The contractor has also purchased five Cat 320E LRR hydraulic excavators, taking to 25 the total fleet of Cat machines.
Working in a number of space-restricted job-sites, including railway sidings and motorways, J Murphy & Sons required machinery with zero-tail swing.
Built to meet European Union stage IIIB emission standards, the Cat 314E LCR and Cat 320E LRR gives the company a powerful, versatile and fuel-efficient machine with compact dimensions to work productively within confined areas.
John Coll, Division Director of Plant, Transport and Procurement at J Murphy & Sons, said: “We pride ourselves in being a forward-thinking and innovative business and being the first company in the UK to have the Cat 314E LCRs puts us ahead of the game.
“Operating the new machines and working alongside Finning will allow us to work quicker and more economically, whilst reducing our emission levels and fuel costs.”
