Administrators from Wilson Field have made around 98 staff redundant after a finance deal collapsed.
Norking Aluminium was formed more than 40 years ago and specialised in the manufacture and installation of bespoke aluminium and glass facades for the external building envelope.
One of the £17m turnover firm’s flagship jobs was to supply the aluminium cladding for the Silverstone Wing at the world famous racing circuit.
Operating nationally from a 30,000 sq foot base in Doncaster, the firm supplied the likes of Balfour Beaty, Bowmer & Kirkland, ISG and BAM on projects ranging from stadia to offices.
Construction Union UCATT, which had members at the firm, said it was putting systems in place to ensure that the workers received all the redundancy and compensation that they are entitled to.
Regional organiser John McIntyre said: “This is a bitter blow for a hard working dedicated workforce. Every effort should be made to find a buyer for the company to save as many jobs as possible.”
