The Bolton builder was selected by Muse Developments to construct the six storey, 70,000 sq ft office facility and has just started on site this month.
The office block will be the first phase of Muse’s City Place regeneration project, which will eventually deliver 440,000 sq ft of offices on 3.5 acres of land between the railway station and the Shropshire Union Canal.
The building itself will be constructed to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating, utilising sustainable materials and construction techniques to minimise the impact on the local environment.
Andrew Slaney at Seddon said: “We are delighted to be involved in one of the most significant developments Chester has seen for many years.”
He said the project would also be complemented with a new public realm, which will provide an open space for office workers and the public, and directly link Chester’s railway station to the Shropshire Union Canal.
Seddon will complete the first phase of the scheme by October 2015.
