Work will start in August on the town’s new Humber University Technical College
at the site of the former Scunthorpe Leisure Centre in Carlton Street.

Rod Fry, Clugston’s construction director, said: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work for the Local Education Partnership, North Lincolnshire Council and the UTC on this significant local project.”

The college, funded by the Department of Education, will teach young people aged 14 to 19 skills within engineering and renewables as the Humber region aspires to become a green energy hub.
