Corrigan, 53, was a main board director and London and South East region boss.
He will be replaced immediately by Tony Aikenhead, the firm’s director of operations.
Corrigan took over as regional director of London from Benny Kelly seven years ago and was a key player in securing the Olympic stadium contract.
Sir Robert McAlpine said Corrigan had left on mutually agreeable terms.
A spokeswoman said: “Vince has been with Sir Robert McAlpine for more than 30 years during which time he has led a large number of high profile and successful projects.
“We thank Vince for his significant contribution to the company and wish him well in his future career.”
The private contractor has long been a major player in the major London projects market.
Presently it has two major jobs on the go, building a new headquarters for Bloomberg in the city and the new US Embassy in the Nine Elms regeneration area near Vauxhall.
Since these major project wins back in 2012, the firm has been short of major new projects, with Skanska taking an ever more dominant role in the London office market.
