The first part of the 200 acre Lee Valley development will be the ‘Meridian Boulevard’ which is set to be the backbone of the council’s Lee Valley regeneration project.
The boulevard will link the eastern and western parts of the scheme with 2,700 homes flanking each side in four and five storey blocks as part of the first phase.
Construction work will start in April next year.
Once completed Meridian Water will create up to 8,420 new homes, 3,000 new jobs, better public transport links and infrastructure including schools, shops and a police station.
Meridian Water will also deliver improvements to public transport that include a centrally located transport hub linked with Angel Road Station, redirected bus routes and proposals for improved rail services on the line connecting the area to Liverpool Street and Stratford.
