Northumbrian Water’s latest framework partnerships are worth up to £333m over nine years.
Four companies have been chosen to carry out the work which is expected to be worth around £37m in total per year.
The work will be carried out in the North East of England and in Northumbrian Water’s southern region where it operates as Essex & Suffolk Water.
Fastflow Pipeline Services, based in Washington, Tyne & Wear, has won the major share of the work with an annual value of £20.5m in the North East and £9.5m in Essex.
Crossglade from Chelmsford, Essex secured work with an annual value at £5m; Lowman from Southend, Essex with an annual value of £1m and T4 Survey from Ipswich bags work in Suffolk worth £1m a year.
The contracts run for an initial three years with the option to further extend them for six more years.
Work includes network improvements, water main installation and renewals, new service and meter connections, repair and maintenance, enabling works and reinstatement.
John Devall, Water Director for Northumbrian Water, said: “The work is of a specialised nature and the selected companies have a strong presence in the regions we operate in and, in turn, their success will also have a positive impact on a diverse and wide group of businesses regions-wide.”
Further framework contract announcements will follow next year when Northumbrian Water’s names its chosen partners to deliver investment for the company’s treatment and sewerage assets.
