Managing director Gerard Kitching has been battling for several weeks to save the firm after a difference over full settlement sums with BAM on the Salford Gateway project deepened its financial woes.
The Winsford-based steelwork specialist sent 33 of its 50 strong workforce home last month as it tried to sort out a new financing deal.
But now Leonard Curtis has been called in and is looking for interested firms to buy the business and assets of the £10m turnover Cheshire steelwork firm.
The structural steel designer, fabricator and erector was established back in 1938 in Salford, Manchester and is now operates from freehold premises of 75,000 sq ft on a 7 acre site in Cheshire.
Leonard Curtis would not comment about its appointment or selling the business.
