I’m always suspicious when I see the word manager whatever business they claim to be overseeing.

All too often managers seem to struggle to justify their inflated wages and opinions of themselves.

And it’s no different in football where Jose Mourinho is having an absolute nightmare.

What a difference a few weeks makes.

Mourinho has gone from the suavest boss in town to almost become a figure of fun.

“You’re not special anymore” was the chorus going around Upton Park last Saturday as the Chelsea boss was sent to the stands to watch his side lose again.

The Blues have got a great squad – but all pace and energy seems to have drained from the team making them predictable and easy to play against.

They aren’t quite as dull as Man United where Louis van Gaal has fashioned one of the most defensively minded sides in living memory.

The Dutchman cuts a strange figure sauntering down the touchline with his man bag full of notes and tactics.

He seems quite happy grinding out tight wins and draws – but grumbling from the stands will grow ever louder if the recent run of one win out of five continues.

Arsene Wenger meanwhile managed to continue the Gunners’ tradition of looking on the verge of something special – before falling off a cliff.

The collective no-show at Sheffield Wednesday was an absolute shocker and the injuries seem to be mounting up despite no recent internationals for Wenger to blame.

David Brent shifted the public perception of managers for good. And this lot are doing little to suggest that was wrong.

Of course having a dig at management failures takes the focus off our dire tipping.

The season continues to be an expensive one – even if we suggested a West Ham win was good value last Saturday without wishing to put the Betting Spy curse on the Hammers.

It’s the same again this week.

Bilic’s boys look good value at 2/1 to win at Watford. And I’ve even had Hornets fans begging me to go for an away win to boost their side’s chances.

But I’m dodging that one and sticking with a straight single in a bid to kick-start the winners column.

West Brom have started to pick-up recently and at 9/5 at home look a good price to beat a Leicester side who even their most ardent fans will concede are over-performing at the moment.
