The contractor will be on site later this month refurbishing the iconic 1789 Law School Old College in the city.
Work on the north side of the historic Old College has been scheduled for completion by the end of 2017.
The Law School, including the library, is to relocate to David Hume Tower, to allow work to take place with the minimum of disruption.
The refurbishment will retain and restore many of the original features of Old College and create new spaces for teaching, learning and research.
A key element of the 190,000 sq ft building revamp will be to create a new law library, spanning the length of the quadrangle’s west side.
The University project team is led by LDN Architects with Adams Consulting Group handling CDM responsibilities.
Harley Haddow is providing consultant mechanical and electrical services. Sweett is the University cost consultant and Elliot and Company structural engineers.
The new building will reopen in January 2018 allowing work to the south-west basement to follow.
